Winter 2015

Winter break was great. Got over to Robert and Joy in Eden. What a fantastic place. Scooter and I went fishing and caught (break out the list): 6 snapper 2 parrot fish Red rock cod Whiting 1 Weird green cod 4 snook Many flathead 7 barracuda 5 morwong A few Silver trevally Not a bad morning out. I got a bit seasick and made barfing noises for about an hour until Scooter threw up over the side, then I felt better. Weird thing is, Scooter doesn't get seasick. But I'm thinking he is a bit susceptible to prolonged exposure to barf sounds. Parky at mount lofty. Our new hobby. climbing the mount on our day off.Dogs in beetle.fishing with Scooter.grant's 40th on the riverParky feeding horses in Scooter and Joy's backyard.

A couple of weeks ago I went to the Morgan Living River festival. Part of all of that was a put-put challenge. It was a fantastic event. Loads of cool boats and a really good turnout at the Morgan riverfront. Thanks to all of the volunteers that put hundreds of hours into making such an event possible.

Summer 2014

2015-02-21
Its all official now, we are no longer citizens of the thriving metropolis of Waikerie. Henley Beach is now our home and Parky and I are working for the School of Languages. We love it. I never wanted to move back to the city, but I'm so glad we did. So is Parky. And the coolest thing of all is that I don't work Thursdays, so the day before yesterday we looked at the tides, wind and swell charts and decided the best and most responsible course of action was to get a carton of dry cider a few litres of fuel and throw the boat in the salty stuff for the first time ever. What a trip. I'm calling it ... I am ... Best day's boating I've ever done. Wow! North Haven to Grange and back, nothing special, just a few hours but what a trip. More of that is going to happen for sure.

A week before Christmas, Maxi, Grant, Parky and I took the Piripi boat out for its first real test. Wakerie to Purnong, 5 days, 200kms, 20 litres of petrol.
Parky got to sleep in a swag. She liked it when I didn't put it in a bull-ant nest. But she's fussy like that.
In General a good time was had by all and we were back in time for Christmas eve.

Just after boxing day, this rag-tag bunch of boofheads made a break for Overland Corner. Amazingly enough were found a pub there. Happy days!

After we lost those guys at the turn of the weekend, Steve and Lysandra rocked up from Melbourne for the Loxton - Berri leg.

We lost drive when the grub screws let go on the prop shaft coupling. But Super-Maxi (not the Yachts) had it in hand. And then we were all happy again.
Then we continued on into NSW/Victoria, eating, drinking, getting terribly hot and then terribly wet. Good times!! A month on the river done.
